You all know who is this?

The French First Lady!!!!
And she is now coined the "new Princess Diana"! I simply love the different cultures adopted all over the world :D

American Idol/Singer

Thursday, March 27, 2008

I kinda not like to call them IDOLS. After all, just by being the top in this competition does not make you an idol. It just makes you the best and most popular singer in the competition!
AH! But I don't really care now, both of my FAVOURITE DAvids are in to the next round! :D

Wedding Affair

I watched the Grand Finals of Grand Finals of Wedding Affair just now. And boy was it interesting during the answering question session.

Couple 1

Host: (To the Groom) What would you do if you realised, after you are married, that she has chest hair? CHEST HAIR!!!!
(Groom looked at the Bride's chest dubiously, kissed his finger and placed it there briefly)

Groom: Seriously, I would shave it. It's QUITE a turn off.

Bride: FYI, he has a fettish for shaving hair.
(Seriously, that's a bit gross to reveal no?)

Host: (To the bride) What would you do, one month into your marriage, you realised that your husband farts so frequently that it's EVERY TWO MINUTES.

Bride: FYI, he does that frequently even now (dagger stare at the husband). I will tell him, no do-do if you fart-fart.

DO-DO?

Host: What? That's the new term for it now?
*laughs hysterically*

Couple 2

Host: (To the Groom) What would you do, if say you went to the mall to buy a thong for your fiancee and you saw your ex-lover. Would you ask her to help out and if you do, would you tell your fiancee?

Groom: No.1. I buy ALL her undies for her. (She was nodding frantically). No.2. We have been together for 10 years and she is my first love. So this situation would not come about.

10 points for him!

Host: (To the Bride) What if, one month into the marriage, you realised your husband has a weird fettish. He wants to wear all your undies to work. Yes, the ones he bought for you.

Bride: (Laughs) I am fine with it, he just love the smell of me all over him!!!

That's a killer one!!! WHOA.

Pooh. The 1st Couple won though.

One of its Kind

"We are very concerned with the casual lifestyle adopted by the teenagers who use the short-messaging system (SMS) to interact with their friends,” said state deputy police chief Senior Ast Comm (II) Tuan Amiruddin Hamzah.

- Kota Bahru, The Star

CASUAL with SMS?

I call it moving with technology. I wonder what's a happening lifestyle to them?

The Devil

Looney Tunes has been around since I was young and you know which character has always been my fave?

Nope. Not the Bunny.

Nor the Tweety.

Not the spitting Daffy Duck.

Nor Sylvester the Cat.

And absolutely not the Grandma.

YES! My favourite cartoon character in Looney Tunes is and always have been dear Taz! I like him!

Crazy, bad tempered, yet honest and gentle (at certain times).

And I recently found out, pardon my ignorance, that the real life little Tazmanian Devil looks like this!!!!

Simply adorable too eh? But a far cry from the brown whirling tornado from my Taz. Kinda sad to discover that :] *laughs*

No, I didn't expect the real Taz to do the whirling tornado thingy from the start if that's what you are wondering.

Coincidence

Moves On

Well, life's all well now after much brooding over. :) I am good now though I wish I could talk to busy Ms.Koay who seems to be working round the clock. *wink*

I have decided that if I am not offered a job by end of May, I am going to have a good holiday till July or August and then start search again. After all, why hurry to where exactly??

In the meantime, work has to be done, FYP has to be completed and Darling's birthday to be celebrated!

Annnnddddd.... I need to diet. It has been unsuccessful with all the time I spend away from home.

Closing Chapters

Wednesday, March 05, 2008

As I lifted my eyes to the moving clouds above, I noticed that it is just like us; taking a form as they move on to the space, moulded by the wind.

I have had an internal struggle for as long as I remembered, searching for the comfort in the grief and sorrow that surround us from within. I am never one who can handle deaths well, and sometimes, I feel that the grief is eating me from inside. I always thought, the Christians could handle it much better, sincerely believing that they will meet their loved ones in Heaven and that is why, death is much bearable. Being a Taoist/Bhuddist, I never really know what's in store for us. And I suspect, that was the reason why I could not handle deaths very well. Acceptance comes with understanding and I never really understood that phase in life.

But it came home to me last Sunday. And this is what I choose to believe.

That human beings are the highest suffering that one could get of all beings. That the fact that we are granted with intelligence, with inexplicable complexed feelings, made us suffer the most. This longing love you feel for someone, this immense greed for wealth, the hatred and despise for someone, the grief and sorrow one feels; that nothingness indeed, is the greatest achievement.

That we should then, blessed are we with these feelings and thoughts, make the best of what we have now and to lessen the sufferings of people around us.

That we are just in one chapters of our lives and one does not die but one passes on after closing this chapter.

My Aunt has passed on last Sunday to another chapter for the better. I am happy, that she is no longer in pain and suffering like the rest of us here, knowing that we won't be able to see her again.

May you be happy now too dear Aunt, no longer bedridden but be the active one that you were.

*smiles*

Thank you Darling, for sharing with me.

Family Matters

It is disappointing that I have to be writting this again. But nothing beats what happened last Sunday in the ward. It is funny how your dad threatened to hit my sister AND saying those hurtful things to my mom and you know what's funnier? The words that came out from your mouth. I see now, clearly, what we are to you people.

Do not even start telling me about Chinese tradition and the "regulations" you uphold in the family. Do not even start on me being English educated and not knowing about "what's right or wrong".
My mom, is as much as a daughter as your dad is a son and we are EVERY INCH the grand children as you are to our grandma. Why? What's the difference here? That we should condone and respect your every single act just because you are older even if it's outright wrong and worse still, hurting my family? It's such a joke to even say it out loud.

You talk about mending broken family ties. May I ask, with what exactly? With your dad treating my mom like this? With you condoning to your dad's actions by yelling at my sis that its not her turn to speak? If this is your said "Chinese tradition" or "Lee tradition", then let me tell you that I uphold respect and integrity; which is definitely not in the context of your said "Chinese tradition" or "Lee tradition".

I do not think that I need to highlight again, that my highest respect stands with my mom but apparently, the message did not get across the last time.

Nothing needs to be said anymore between us 2 families. I do not think the damage can be undone.

If you have thought, that it is your responsibility to lead the family by forming bridges and bringing the family together, and if you can't do it nor are you mending the situation but making it worse, might I suggest that maybe you should not even try leading in the first place.

FYI: Let's talk about your kind of respect, say, by chucking grandma onto our table during your wedding dinner and refuse her of the right to sit on the main table? I beg to differ, that it is NOT the kind of respect I or any other family members, uphold.

Drama eh?

A Day After The Leap Day

Sunday, March 02, 2008

Darling and I went to the National Museum today to see the Greek Masterpieces from Louvre. I loved it! All the masterpieces were great, specially flown in from France I think, but my personal favourite is non other than Venus herself, the symbol of beauty and love.

This particular sculpture of Venus holds an apple in her left hand. And each of their actions carry a specific meaning.
There was a time when Athena, Venus (also known as Aphrodite) and somebody's wife (I forgot who), were fighting for who was the fairest of them all and approached Zues to answer.
Zues, knowing that he shouldn't meddle with women's affairs (wise move!), directed them to Paris! This is the Orlando Bloom from the movie of Troy if you all remember. Yes, the one begging on Brad Pitt's feet. Zues told Paris to decide and then give the apple to one whom he thinks is the fairest of them all. The sombody's wife promised Paris something else (which I really can't rmb), Athena promised Paris that he would win in all warfares and will make him the emperor of Asia Minor, and Venus, promised him the love of the most beautiful woman in the world.
Paris chose the love of the most beautiful woman and hence gave the apple to Venus. And this brought about Helen of Troy to Paris later on. (Should he cose Athena, he would not be begging on Brad Pitt's feet)
This is Ares, who had an affair with someone I think.

This is Athena, the goddess of warfare.

This carries a romantic story of a man (on the right) who lost his newly married wife (centre) to Death and has tried to retrieve her from the Death itself. The man on the left is a messenger from the Death, trying to take her back.

HO ho ho. This is quite a shock. This is a picture depicting Zues's love/like/admiration to a young man. Zues is holding a rooster usually given by a person to show his love to a younger one. *grins*

This is the young man thatZues liked/loved/admired. And the fact that he is on the other side of the vase, and the fact that it is a vase, it depicts the 2 of them going in endless circles. Yikes.

Thereafter, we went prawn fishing!!!

The eager prawn man in the first half an hour, after having caught 3 prawns!!!

This is how we keep our caught prawns alive.

The Prawn Man's wrestling feat with the caught prawn.

The Prawn Man attempting to unhook the caught prawn.

Failed. Thus the tutorial lesson from the man beside.

The Prawn Man one hour into catching nothing and feeding.
Feeding means the prawn took the bait without getting hooked. Yes, the prawnS outsmarted us. We went to all sorts of measures including promising the prawns bulks of TREASURE should it choose out bait! *grins*

After 3 hours, we caught pathetically THREE prawns while people went home with baskets.

The Prawn Man grilling his catch of the day.

The Prawn Man with his grilled and shelled prawn!
*laughs*
We just thank god we weren't born to be fishermen!
